Happy Chocolate Caramel day!! And wow, what a coincidence…it’s also MY BIRTHDAY!! Woohoo…now I have TWO excuses to eat all the chocolate and caramel I want!!! :-D. Step aside chocolate bunnies! My husband’s hand is making his debut in today’s painting, breaking off a piece of my chocolate finger!! :-).

Today is quilting day! I had a lot of fun with this one, and glued on a real piece of thread for the final pic using body glue!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Since today is an actual holiday most people are aware of, which is obviously not the case with most of my daily “celebrations,” I wanted to go all out. But alas…a last minute cub scout event threw a wrench in my plan to paint my boys last night! So, I had about 1 minute per kid this morning to paint them before school! Both just wanted their arms, so that’s what we did!
The rainbow was created in a split second using my TAG 3/4″ flat brush and Cameleon’s Rainbow Wow. The shamrocks were also created in just seconds using some Global Fresh Green (so we don’t have to see them stained on their arms tomorrow), stamped on quick with my small wooden daubers. The teeny ones were done with the new “Deb’s Dotters!” I then finished it off using a #1 round Loew-Cornell brush with a little black & white, and then a few dots of gold Liquid Bling! BAM!

Today is Buzzards Day! I have to admit I was really not looking forward to this one…I mean, who really loves buzzards anyway? But, I used the 15 minutes I had before my boys got home from school to do this quick buzzard on my fist!

Happy “MOTH-er Day!” Well, I have absolutely no clue why they had to add “-er” at the end…why didn’t they just call it “moth day?!” Is it supposed to be some sort of play on Mother’s day? Hmm… Oh well…at any rate, I painted a moth for today. 😉

Happy Jewel Day!! I LOVE painting jewelry. While this one looks pretty intricate and time consuming, it actually took me less than 30 minutes. My small wood daubers and new “Deb’s Dotters” really made quick work of the tiny jewels! Then it was just a matter of adding highlights and shadows to define the facets and sparkles. Looking for some help with painting jewels? I have several pages on painting realistic gemstones in my Realism for Face And Body Artists book!
